I have no words right now to explain what God is doing in my heart as I read through your comments on my last post. As I read and pray through them, I am finding it to be an even more difficult experience than I imagined it would be. Thank you all for sharing with me.
---------------------------
Tomorrow will be an eventful day, as I am shooting a Valentine's Day wedding. Wish me "luck," I think this is going to be the biggest and fanciest wedding I've shot so far. If I shoot like a pro, the photos have the potential to be really good for my portfolio!
I'm dreadfully excited but also nervous about leaving Stellan all day. Prince Charming and his mom, The Queen Mum, will have all our MSC tomorrow. We have breastmilk stored up, Stellan takes a bottle like a champ, I'll take care of milk-related things on my end while I'm away, but I am usually the one who knows when he's hungry or tired and I put him down for naps and bedtime. I am not overly worked up by any means, but he will be on my mind all day. I'm hoping with the hoopla of the fun wedding and the intensity of shooting for hours and hours on end, I'll be able to keep the worrisome thoughts at bay.
I'm sure I'll still keep up my Twitter habit this weekend, but don't expect another actual post until after the wedding is said and done, of course. Oh, and the bride-to-be has already given me permission to sneak preview (can I verb that!?) of few shots here on this blog!
On a parting note, I'll leave you with photographs of the fun lunch I had with the big boys yesterday. I came up with the idea on the fly, while scrounging through our refrigerator looking for something to feed them. Entertaining them was just a bonus!
---------------------------
MckMama's Pleasing Personal Pizza's
Start with whole wheat pita bread, one for each person.
Drizzle on a bit of olive oil and spread it around.
Add tomato sauce and spread it around.
Cover with shredded mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle on a little oregano.
Add tomato (there's really a slice under there!) and salami (if you don't have pepperoni).
Top with more mozzarella cheese and some parmesan.
Put the pizzas on a cookie sheet or baking stone. Preheat your oven to 400.
When cheese is sufficiently melted, removed from oven and slice with a pizza cutter.
Serve with strawberries.
Try to come to grips with the fact that you apparently don't hate to cook as much as you think.

Mmm, that pizza looks yummy! Good luck with the wedding, I'm sure you'll be awesome! I can't wait to see some teaser pics!
That is a good pizza idea!!!
And I'm sure others will tell you, your photos will be great...can wait to preview them!
Leslie
we make these personal pizzas with egg mcmuffins! yum!
Yum!! Have fun at the wedding tomorrow! :)
Have been doing this for 30 years.
So much fun and very good!
I make these with my boys a lot too. Only I use mini pita's that I get from Trader Joes. Its a pretty fun lunch and it does keep them entertained too.
Also, I was in Target today and thought of you. A little boy was screaming and he said, "I Hate Target!" I thought it was pretty funny. At least he was honest.
Have fun with your wedding shoot.
you had me at pita bread and olive oil!
Gotta love pampered chef!
Happy Valentine's Day! I will be hosting a babyshower tomorrow myself...
*Feel the love**
What a fantastic idear :)
Nothing like a pita pizza! Good luck tomorrow and Happy Valentine's Day!!!
The pizza's look great! Have fun at your shoot
Those look yummy!!! I might have to steal that recipe from you because I too, "hate to cook" ;). Have fun on your shoot! Can't wait to see pictures!
I bet they tasted good, but even better - I bet the boys had a BLAST making them. Great lunch idea! =0)
Good luck on your wedding! Looking forward to seeing the pics! Will they be jumping? ha ha ha
You'll be fine, by the Grace of God. As always. So will Stellan. This is good - all day with Dad and Gram.
Try to come to grips with the fact that you apparently don't hate to be free of your baby as much as you think.
oh i just love weddings. have fun!
Hi MckMama! My name is Tana and I'm a "new commenter" but I've been following your blog for a while! I love the lunch idea and it looks yummy too!
I couldn't help but notice your counter is quickly approaching 4,000,000!!! Did you notice that?!?
Exciting! :)
Another fun family activity from Mckmama! :) thanks. my girls AND my husband will like this one.
Your pizzas are making me regret my fridge doesn't hold the right ingredients! Yummy! Praying tomorrow goes smooth for all of you. It will be my daughter's 6th birthday, so we are looking ahead to a great family day.
We love to make personal pizzas at our house! We throw all kinds of veggies on them (along with the pepperoni). I especially enjoy mine with onions and red/yellow/green peppers...yummo. Those strawberries in your pics look deeeelicious! I can't find any that look that good, here. I wish I could reach through the computer and grab a couple! MckNugget wouldn't like that, I suppose. ;o)
You'll do a great job photographing the wedding...I've seen your pictures on your website. You are an awesome photographer! I know you will be missing Stellan, but those hours will fly by quickly. You'll be back home with him before you know it! *I feel a cheer coming on...* You can do it, you can do it, you CAN!
Blessings...
Beth E. :o)
Looks yummy. My kids love those types of pizzas.. just their size and just the way they like them.
You can do anything and make it fun, can't you? Are you Super Woman or something... you have that skin tight red-white-blue leotard hiding under thoese clothes.... I just know it!
i seriously think you should consider getting a cape and a super power and rename your self mck-super-mama. I love this idea and it looks great! happy v-day!

Have fun at the wedding tomorrow and I know that Stellan will be fine...if it were me, I'd have to be more worried about my husband :) Sometimes the kids give him a hard time if he doesn't do things like I do and Lucy never wants to nap for him. Needless to say I don't go anywhere by myself very often unless it is after bedtime and all the kids are asleep. I'm going to live vicariously through you in that department :)
You will be awesome for your first fancy wedding!
Have so much fun at the wedding tomorrow. Don't worry about Stellan he will be fine.Just have a little you time! The pizza's look yummy!
Have fun at the wedding tomorrow!
Yum, those pizzas look delicious. I admit, I usually cheat and make the frozen ones.
Good "luck" tomorrow!
I'm not sure how many weddings you've done but here is my best totally unsolicited advice.....
1. Comfortable shoes are a must
2. Don't forget to eat and pee (but not at the same time) ;)
I always forget to eat and pee all 16 hours of my wedding shoot days....YIKES!
We all know you'll do great!
Lisa at BlogBaby
Too cute! That looks like such a fun idea, I might even be able to do that with my 2 graders. Well...I can think it would be a good idea anyway!
Have a wonderful time tomorrow with the Valentine's Wedding shoot! You will do an outstanding job, that I'm sure of!! In fact, as soon as my "Prince Charming" comes around (sure pray that it's sooner...MUCH sooner, rather than later) you are my TOP photographer! :) I've already planned that part and YES, I will come to you!! :)
Have fun and can't wait to see your awesome work!
Love ya,
Jess :)
P.S. Sorry my picture isn't coming up...I'm on my sister's computer and if I sign out of her...I mess everything up that she's got going on, so...you get my comment w/o a picture!
Praying that everything goes well tomorrow during the wedding shoot. Those pizzas look fun-and good. :)
Mmm! Sounds yummy!
Good luck with the wedding shots, I'm sure they'll turn out great!!
I do the same thing with soft tortillas...so yummy!
God bless have fun and shoot like a pro . Enjoy your day~

We had Pita Pizzas for lunch yesterday, too!!! Great minds DO think alike, right?!
Have a great weekend, and enjoy the creative time away...I know that sweet Stellan will be in great hands (well, of course you know that too!).
Today was emotional for me....actually ever since I read your post last night. I wrote my own feelings down in a tearful blog post, and it was some good therapy for me. Great prayers went up, and I feel renewed. Thank you, friend!
Happy Valentine's Day!!!
Oh Avery would love to do this pizza making thing!!!!
Good luck tomorrow!!!
I hope you have a blast at the wedding and I can't wait to see the pics!
I'm sure Stellan will have a great time with Queen Mum and PC!
Pizza's look delicious!
I definitely want to see pictures from the wedding; I love great photos!
And that's a great pizza idea; I'll have to try it sometime! =)
Also super yummy on whole grain english muffins! Good luck at the wedding, I know your pictures will be beautiful. Oh, and I hope you will be not too tired for NOT ME Monday because really, I did NOT do a terrible thing to my baby this weekend...he's fine but my husband is still laughing at me.
Awesome pizza ideas! I make stuff like that for lunches too. You can also do them on tortillas (make it Mexican-style) or on pitas spread with hummus (instead of tomato sauce) and topped with Feta, kalamata olives (if you like them), bell peppers, and tomatoes.
I make something very similar only with basil and oregano (and I wanna say garlic too, although I could be wrong.) But I leave the sauce off and cook the pita pizza with cheese, cut them into strips, and them dip them into the sauce. Mmm.

Hey I have been following your blog only for a short time. I love reading it. Love the pizza idea. I was wondering what kind of camera do you use and what kind of photo shop do you use to edit with? If you get a chance please let me know. I love to take pictures and am interested in getting a new good camera.
Thanks,
Brittney in MS
Oh Yum!! Ok hubby and I will have to try this recipe! We love love love pizza and well I have little pizza pans and well I will have to try it!
Thank you again for posting the other post! It's such a touchy subject to talk about but it showed me that I am truly not alone!
Have a great time at your wedding shoot tomorrow. I bet it will be beautiful and Stellan will be just fine :)
You don't hate it - especially when it looks like your kids did all the work! ;-) Good luck tomorrow. I'm sure the shots will be beautiful!
I make these for my husband and I all the time! I actually have friends ask for me to make them. Too funny. The whole wheat pita bread makes them sooo good!
I wish my boys ate pizza! They are both super picky but I love your idea! Have fun at the wedding!
Yum! Those pizzas look fun and yummy!
Good luck on your wedding shoot tomorrow! Weddings make me nervous (to photograph) but they are always amazing, inspiring events. I know oyu will do a fabulous job!
The pizza's look delicious! I know your kids have a great time making them also.
Looking forward to pictures of the wedding - you are a great photographer1
Have a lovely weekend!
Prayerfully,
Karen Needham
Yummy! We will have to try that this very weekend. And I'll be praying that God will enhance the senses of PC and his mum, so that they know what Stellan needs even before he does. You'll do great.. what fun to shoot a wedding! The bride and groom are too immersed in the details and the whole process to be able to really "see" it.. so YOU will be their eyes. And you see so well...
I've been reading the comments on the last post and am broken for all the hurt and loss. But oh.. what a day of rejoicing it will be when those tiniest ones are back in their mother's arms... handed ever so gently by the Father. I can only imagine....
The pizza looks SUPER yummy!! My boys had strawberries at lunch today too. I love when strawberries are in season and smell really sweet!
We make these with grnd lamb, feta cheese, kalamata olives, roma tomatoes, and wilted spinnach on pinta bread. If I leave out the red onion, my kids will eat it! These look great!
I love that last line! It made me chuckle!
Here's a "job well done" tomorrow instead of good luck..cuz well we all know you dont believe in luck AND I already know you will do a great job! :)
Happy Valentine's Day!

Good luck with your shoot tomorrow. I know wedding shoots can get really long and tiring, but I'm always amazed at how they fly by.
I'm also amazed at how many weddings I've shot where I didn't eat anything but a granola bar and water bottle all day due to lack of time.
I hope your shoot goes well, and I can't wait to see the sneak peek photos on here!
Good Luck tomorrow! I am sure you will do a wonderful job! You are so talented and I can't wait to see the preview! That pizza looks good!
Side note, could you do another post about the different lenses you use and what effects they give you? As part of your camera lessons... :) Us amateurs would really appreciate it!
Have a great day!
My kiddos LOVE these!
Can't wait to see some wedding shots. You'll do great!

putting them in the broiler is easier! one of my favorite easy recipes too!
We make Pita pizza's a lot here in Arizona. Actually for our youngest Son's 2nd birthday party next weekend, we are going to be letting everyone create their own pizzas. We're going to put out various toppings and pita rounds and have them go to it. I really love these pizzas because they don't make me feel sick after eating them. Yummy!
This is off the subject of your yummy looking pizza's and how much I want that 85mm lens!!! oh where did you rent them from?!?!
But can you do a post on twitter?!?! How do we reply to you n twitter? things like that?
Good Luck on your shoot tomorrow (as if you need any)! I'm sure the pictures will come out beautifully, I hope to be close to as good as you one day...or I could convince you to come to DC and do a photo shoot...proably not, but I tried! :o)
My sister got married on Valentine's Day in 1987, so she will be married 22 years tomorrow! What a day!
We live in West Texas, where the wind ALWAYS blows, and usually the dirt, too! Well, that day the wind was blowing like crazy, and when my mother carried our dresses in from the car, we didn't know it, but the jackets blew away. We REALLY needed those jackets!
Well, before they could be missed, some kind lady who was coming to the wedding just so happened to find them, and deliver them to my mother. Boy, were we glad!
Here's a word of caution for you (like you need one!)! DON'T LET THE GROOM'S FATHER TOUCH THE VIDEO CAMERA BETWEEN THE WEDDING AND RECEPTION.
My brother in law is an idiot, and his father was, too. I can't speak too bad about him cause he died about 10 years ago. But, between the wedding and reception he decided he wanted to look at the ceremony on the camera.
Well, he did, but he forgot to forward it to the end of the ceremony, and the person taping it didn't know he had done anything.
Soooo, we have video of my sister walking down the hall towards the sanctuary w/ my Dad, and down the aisle, and then the next scene the wedding was over.
Did he apologize? Nooo, he just said "Well, I was just looking!" Grrrrr
Thankfully there were LOTS of pictures!
Sorry this is so long!
good luck on the wedding tomorrow, I'm sure you'll do fabulous.
I do that all the time with tortilla shells and I love them! Great idea for the kids!
The pizza looks good. I'm sure the pictures will be great. I can't wait to seem some of them.
Mmmm.... guess this works even if you don't have kids to feed or entertain :) Thanks, MckMama!
Hi MckMama,
I have no idea where to find an e-mail for you so I'm going to post this in the comments. I've been reading your blog since you were pregnant with Stellan. I was reading the comments on you post about "never forgetting" there was an anonymous post from a woman who had two abortions before giving her life to Christ. I dont' know if someone else has said anything to her yet and I just don't have time to read all the comments and I have no idea if she's even going to read them. God placed a love in my heart for this woman and a desire to bless her heart. She shared that she hasn't been able to share her story because Christians are so strongly opinionated about abortion. I feel so strongly about abortion, I love life, but I know the heart of Jesus and the work of redemption and forgiveness that he did and I just want to give this woman a hug. I know that you are very busy, but if you could just make a small post directing her to my blog I would really appreciate it. If you don't feel led to do this I understand but I hope that you will..
feel free to e-mail me. momma_bean (at)hotmail(dot)come
Thanks so much!
You take such lovely pictures I know that you'll be fine tomorrow! The judge of how you do will be if there are lots of pictures of the bride and groom or if there will be lots of pictures of babies....that will show you where your thoughts are...hehehe!
What a wonderful and fun idea. Good luck with the wedding.
Great idea for pizzas. That's actually what we made for Christmas Eve dinner, because english muffins, tomato sauce, and mozz. cheese were all we had in the house. Those on-the-fly dinners are always fun and memorable. :)
Good luck with the wedding this weekend. I'm sure Stellan will do great with PC & your mom.
Thanks for reminding me about mini pizzas. I'll have to add that to the menu soon, the boys will love it.
I'll be thinking about you tomorrow. Remember to HAVE FUN!
that is one of my favourite tricks. In a pinch, english muffins work really well too
Dude. I could really go for some salami right now. Oof. But not 'til after TKD. 2 hours and then I can have yummy dinner.
Have you ever had socca?
Sarena took the words off my heart about anonymous' post last night. I feel like I want to add something, but I can't--she said it perfectly.
i'll be praying for you tomorrow (a that you don't let down while shooting, and b that you don't mist up too much missing the boy and c that you shoot a fabulous wedding, which i'm sure you'll do!)
awesome post yesterday. so many gripping stories. i was thinking just tonite about how many women have been touched by losses. it's heartbreaking, but there is hope in the darkness, and that comes as a sweet gift from God.
thank you so much for sharing your heart!
Mmmm...yummy! I have memories of pita pizzas from when I was growing up.
I'd like to invite your readers over to my blog to participate in my 100th post raffle. The more the merrier!
I can't wait to see the wedding pics. Would you be interested in doing a post on taking wedding pics?
Oh, I HEART personal pita pizzas! I had horrible gestational diabetes (the cruelest diet EVERY for a pregnant woman!), and couldn't eat pizza. Then we discovered the pita pizza! One pita is the PERFECT carb serving for the GD diet!
My little guy is 2 days older than Stellan! He looks about 6 months though....we weighed him yesterday and he tipped the scales at 19 pounds. I'm pretty sure he is sneaking his own pita pizzas at night!
Great choice. Pita pizza is actually better for you then regular homemade pizzas. Good luck with the wedding tomorrow.~Darlene
What a nifty idea! I will have to try that. When Charlotte gets a little older, though...not quite 2 years old and making a pizza..that could be dangerous.
Thanks for reminding me of the pizza idea! We've also made them exactly the same on english muffins or plain bagels. We haven't done this in awhile..we might just have to give it a try today for lunch!
Ooo gotta make me some of "MckMama's Pleasing Personal Pizza's"! Those look tasty!
Good luck for the shoot!!!! You will rock it!!
Those pizzas look delicious! What a great idea! :)
Hope you all had a wonderful Valentines Day!
what a great idea!~
yummy! i also wanted to say what a beautiful post your 'i will never forget' post was. Really beautifully put. Thank you.
MckMama.. i LOVE your posts on meal/snack ideas, as well as your posts about fun kiddo activities in the art/creative department! You rock! (and you have helped rekindle my passion for all things creative, which diminished with the addition of kiddos of my own!). Please keep the ideas rollin' out! xoMRG
Yum Yum!
Linda
catching up on your blog today...i had an extremely exhausting and long weekend. i can't wait to read about the wedding you did and see pics...gonna pop up there now and take a look.
yummy pizzas! we like a similar thing at our house too. i personally enjoy it BBQ style with BBQ sauce, cheese, bacon and a bit of onion! yummy!
I decided to try this recipe today and my boys (including my husband) all gobbled it right up. it was nice to cook something that everyone liked for a change! Thanks for sharing!
THANKS for this post! I've been meaning to try it out, and finally did! So I posted some pics of us making it (and of course gave you some credit). I love the kids can take charge and make their own however they want!
