You might be a redneck if...

tablemanners4

Congratulations, Amy! What a great caption. This is actually not the first time that Jeff Foxworthy has made an appearance on my blog. Interestingly enough, I was inspired by Jeff's you might be a redneck if jokes to write this post almost exactly a year ago.

Well done, my friend. You have won a camera strap slip cover of your choice, created just for you by Shealynn! (Shoot me an email, Amy, so I can hook you up with your loot!)

Some of my other favorite entries were:

I'm raisin' you ten. By Beth.

Dear Miss Manners: What if my feet are clean? By Sonja.

One for you, one for me, one for you, one for me... By akbaker77.

I hate freeze tag. By Di.

When life gives you raisins....make toe jam! By The Beaver Bunch.

And then, when the Man with the Yellow Hat wasn't looking... By Jennifer.

Excellent job, one and all! I already have another photo waiting in the wings for a Name That Photo contest, so make like Small Fry and stay on your toes!

Man...those are some GREAT captions!!! Good work, one and all! These pictures prove I need to get outdoors with my new camera...I'm getting sick of photographing my low-light living room at night...ha!

So glad things are back to "normal" in your life. My mom always said, "Normal is good. Normal is soooo good." :)

Your fresh snow is lovely! Ours is rock hard... We got rain last weekend when you were getting snow. Sounds like a repeat tomorrow night. Our snow is not of the sledding kind right now sadly.

Looks like a great time!

Beth E. said...

I want snow!!!! We've had days and days of rain. The temp is dropping, so we might get just a little of the white stuff.

Your pictures are awesome. Wish we lived closer to one another. Our youngest son's senior pics were horrible. We had the formal ones retaken and got a refund for the casual pics! We've got another studio taking pics tomorrow. I'd love some outside pics of him shot by MckMama, though...*sigh*

Krystal said...

Could you PLEASE send us some of that snow? My kids would love to go sledding! Do you ever get tired of all the snow? Just curious! Looks like so much fun and also like it would burn a ton of calories! That's what would interest me!

Happy New Year!

what do you think about letting your readers vote (via a poll or something i don't know how to do) on the favorite captions you have it narrowed down to? (most grammatically incorrect sentence ever, sorry). i've never written one, but like seeing what people write and always tend to find a favorite.

Loving your selections for top title pics...my fav is I'm raisin you ten...so clever!
I just panicked a bit when I remembered I forgot to look at your counter. Do you realize that you had a million views from October to Nov?! That is crazy girl! (I was trying to calculate when it may happen...we'll see how close I get)

MckMama,
One more ?'
I was just watching the video on the Miracle Blanket, reminds me of the Indian Papoos boards! Looks like the same bundling, but what I am wondering do the little ones bundled in these grow up to be more disciplined/controlled kids???
Not sure if that is the exact wording for the thought process, but hopefully you understand :)

Rich took Isaac sledding the other day too, and then today all the kids went sledding at pre-school!

Hope to talk to you soon!

I have been reading your blog since you were in the hospital on bed rest. I sobbed when I read about Stellan's bout with RSV. I used a similar blanket to the miracle blanket. I clicked on the banner for the blanket and watched the video. I looks like torture when the babies arms are strapped down. But both of my babies were arms out, hands on face sleepers so I would swaddle them in a swaddler blanket and then pull their arms out. I would even do this in the hospital after the nurses would burrito wrap my baby and walk out I would go over and untuck their arms. But those blankets are so awesome. My daughter used her until she was 6 months old. I love your blog.

You don't know nuthin' 'bout no rednex, honey. That looks WAY out in the country - but not rednex country.

Me, Myself and I said...

My family use their feet as another hand. We pick things up of the floor with our feet, etc.. Our friends think it is hilarious.

And it looks like a great time was had by all while sledding. We took the boys for the first time last winter and had a ball.

Public Service Announcement: All pet owners please read my blog re: Hartz flea products.

Hope you get a great nights sleep tonight!

I noticed neither of us picked the cat picture for our posts. :) I'm saving that one for Monday cuz really, who goes sledding with their cat!? Not me!
I forgot to include the one of SisterBear and MckNugget drinking hot chocolate. Darn!

p.s. I found Nuggey's pair of mittens in the library this morning. Do you have others or should we try to hook up soon?

Great pictures!! Our snow is gone, but boy, the rain has come!!!

SO... I'm now going to be one of those people... who ask you a question you've probably answered a million times. I've looked through your "What kind of camera/lens do you have" and "Photography lessons," and I even looked up a review on your 50mm f/1.8 II lens to find the answer. But alas, I am lost. My question is: when you snap such great pictures as the sledding shots, or of Small Fry's adorable redneck foot, are you using manual or autofocus? I'm in the Nikon breed and have a GREAT lens... but it's manual focus only. I spend forever trying to get my son in enough natural lighting that if he moves, it won't be blurry as heck. I realize the boys were sledding outside, so I guess that's enough natural lighting. And I don't want to insult you, being a professional and all, if you ONLY use manual focus and how dare I consider you using anything less! : )

Hope this answer isn't in too many posts already... I feel bad when you have to repeat yourself so often!!

By the way, my friend Brooke wrote me, excited that SHE was sending you her Miracle blanket!! : ) Oh, how I wish I had had that a few months ago. My son was always sneaking his arms out.

Thanks MckMama!

I love your pictures! And totally off the subject, I had no idea what a miracle blanket was until you put that link up. Now I want one! But my daughter is four and my son is 19 months, so I don't think that they would care for it too much!Hmmm, maybe if we had a new baby...lol

I know that you have four children, and they are all beautiful,

And I know that you do not like to place an emphasis on your children's looks,

And I know it's not the most important thing,

but that child is absolutely gorgeous (MckNugget that is). And that is just an awesome, awesome picture of him. You have a beautiful family, thank you for sharing them with us.

Also have you ever heard of MobyWrap? It is also for babywearing, and very versatile. It is so comfortable and made to carry your kids until 35pounds if you would like. I also couldn't figure out how to upload the counter, it is at 3003082 now. WOW YOU have a lot of readers:-)
