Lady at the Community Center (No, it wasn't Karen!) this morning, to MckNugget, as we were all eating lunch in their little cafe:
"Oh, is that carrot good, Sweetie? And that sandwich? Yum, yum! Is it yummy in your tummy?"
Big Mac, to the lady: "No. Food does not stay in his tummy. It goes (hand gestures at this point) through lotsa other stuff in his body and then it comes out of his bottom."
Duly noted, Professor Big Mac. Thank you for that much-needed scientific explanation of digestion.

I have been remiss in linking to this post, written by Laura from String of Pearls. My socks weren't the only ones you all knocked off with your breathtaking giving during the Rebel Without For A Cause Raffle-Way last month. Click on the link to read proof of how much of a blessing you were!!

Is this awesome, or what? It hangs on Stellan's door. Which is actually Small Fry's door. Which is actually our bedroom closet.
But someday, Stellan will move up in the world and get to sleep with the clothes and coathangers. And when he does, his door will already be ready. Oh, and thank you so much, Alicia!!!!
----------------------------------------------------
Me: "No, sweetheart, you may not have a sip of that pop. Pop is for adults."
Big Mac: "Yes, but I have pop sometimes. When I'm with Daddy."
Busted.

Cute! Love the new shirts and Big Mac sure looks a lot like his Mama!
All of them are adorable.
Way to go cute genes!
Too funny! What did PC say about the pop?
Oh my, so glad to know my husband isn't the only one who keeps "secrets" from me... via our children!!!
Smiles,
Meredith
Love the anatomy lesson! Smart little guy :) Yeah, we pretty much treat soda (pop) like candy. Occasional treat. Daddies have a tendency to be a bit less strict with these things though! lol
Yeah....that Pop thing sounds really familiar...
Too Funny and it sounds like Pop is in trouble due to pop. :)
I gave my godchild a sip of my orange Mt. Dew the other day. He loved it, I thought his mother, My coworker was going to have me come over and watch him that night.
But, he is always hiper even without a sip of caffine.
I'm watching him tonight so it may be interesting how hiped up he is for me for the evening.
I love pre-schooler-isms.
Big Mac is so smart...plus he got daddy busted without knowing :)
~Elyse~
roflmao!
BUSTED.
whoops.
Thank you for sharing the post from String of Pearls!
Isn't it fun to accidently do some busting. Happened a few times here via the mouths of my babes. Loved the anatomy lesson, Big Mac.
Yeah, my husband gets busted a lot by our kids...I love it when he is actually in the room and gets busted...the look on his face is priceless :)
Super cute! Oh, and loving the sign :o)
I, too, have to know what Prince Charming said about Big Mac and the Pop! (:
Oh! I started doing NotMe! Mondays! Yay! I'm so excited about it!
Ha, Ha.. gotta love it when it's the kids that busy Daddy! :)
Ooops on the soda....little does he know that oops gets him no more soda! Great anatomy lesson!
Huh-layr-ee-us. What a gift you have at writing...amongst other things, of course. You are so relatable.
...and your kids aren't too shabby, either. :)
Courtney and the Boys

liz
Thanks for the mid-afternoon chuckle. :)
LOL! Big Mac has the best comments! Out of the mouths of babes. =o)
Ah, yes. Too familiar. Daddy not obeying my food rules. I've been building a positive vocabulary so I don't accidentally or intentionally disrepect my husband by declaring a food rule he doesn't follow.
So instead of saying, "We don't eat processed cheese." I can say, "Let's eat the special cheese that's made on a family farm in country." Or in the pop discussion, "Water will make you feel fresh and clean on the inside." Or "Juice with Vit. C will make your immune system stronger!"
Katie
Not as bad as being busted by an overheard comment you make to your hubby about someone else... "yeah, that got kind of sticky..."
Okay, so I LOVE your blog! It is so funny, enlightening, and God-filled! PS. BUSTED! That was sooo funny!
ohhh.. the things kids say!
My husband would say if your husband knows any better he will deny, deny, deny!! LOL jk
LORI
Love the Mc Shirts, they are so cute.
What a touching post from String of Pearls!
It may not be a camera, but I have a small give-away on my blog right now! Enter and pass it on! :)
I love it! He probably was wondering why the lady was baby talking him! Way to go!
Okay, I HAVE to ask: Did MckNugget cut his own hair? It's so cute in his picture, and if he didn't...well, I guess Karen and I should be friends since we're the queen of rude comments! :) No offense intended AT ALL!!!
Ha! Daddy's always the culprit in our house! ok...with the 3rd I'm caving more and more. (that poor 1st child.)
You're new header is awesome! Do you really not mistakenly call them by their blog names sometimes??
I love this post. Big Mac is so funny!
That is too funny - it happens in our house all the time - Daddy always gets busted. I think it is the funniest!! I always have to go tell him that you can't keep any secretes from Mommy!
K is too funny! My friend's ex-boyfriend used to "babysit" their daughter by putting her in front of the TV with a 2-liter soda from the gas station! I'm sure PC isn't that bad...
Thats funny he went into details about digestion. LOL!
I love the Stellan sign, so cute!
LOL about the pop!! Same thing goes on around here.
Hope you don't mind, I just wanted to share the brave thing I did yesterday!;)
http://kingdomtwindom.blogspot.com/2009/01/quite-possibly-bravest-thing-ive-ever.html
That sign is super cute!
www.briankelliharper.blogspot.com
Ahhh, Big Mac - gotta love him! He goes straight from "poop" to "Pop". =0)
Love MckMuffin's door hanger sign thingy. Too cool!
AND I LOVE YOUR NEW BLOG HEADER. LOVE THEIR SHIRTS!
WTG Daddy. LOL
Love the name sign! haha, I am usually the one getting busted around here for breaking the girls "dietary" rules!
too cute! sounds like my Little Man who during Sunday School, explained to the class they needed surgery to take out the stones in their gallbladder.
too cute! sounds like my Little Man who during Sunday School, explained to the class they needed surgery to take out the stones in their gallbladder.
Too funny! I'll have to tell you about Ethan's anatomy lesson when Emma was born...;-) I'm sure you know where I'm going!
Ha! That is hilarious. Gotta love that, eh!

Okay, I'm just going to come right out and ask ... who on earth is "Karen" at the community center??? You've mentioned her on several occasions, and I bet there's a good story behind this one!
Oh, and way to go, Professor Big Mac! That silly lady needed to get the facts straight. You'd love the book my kiddos enjoy on that very topic ...What Happens To Your Food? by Alastair Smith. It's a fun Usborne flip/flap book, with a perfect "ending".
Hahaha those daddies ~~ busted indeed!!!
Love you dear one,
Dawn
Ha Ha! Kids are funny! While we were learning the Christmas story some of my girls at work (3 yr olds) decided they needed to have babies in their tummies too to which one little girl replied "My daddy said I can have a baby in my tummy only after I go to college and get married." ...so true! :)
That was too funny Thanks for sharing! I love the new shirts do you know where she got them made I would love to find out.. Thanks
Funny post :D
Love the new look in here :)
My little one told on his me-maw when she let him taste coffee!
Aren't daddy's grand? Oh how I love Professor Big Mac's analogy of digestion.
I know I have said this yesterday, but the new header is so adorable!
Kids are soooo funny.
HAHA! PC totally got busted, hilarious. When I was young I knew I was NOT. ALLOWED. NOT. AT. ALL. NEVER. EVER. EVER. to have coke. My great aunt and uncle used to tell me it was dirty water so I would drink it, get all hyped up, then they would send me home.
LOL about the pop! My kids usually end up telling on their Daddy too when he lets them do something that they know I don't allow them to do!
Love the t-shirts too and have been enjoying your blog.
Must.Have.a.name.sign.like.Stellan's!
I love it!
I've been reading your blog for a little bit and it seems a bit strange that I feel like I know you so well! Thought I'd just leave you a comment to let you know I really enjoy your posts!!
Kim
So busted! My boy busted his daddy the other after Hubs was complaining about the bulldog's horrindous gas by saying, "Daddy I told you to stop giving them sausage this morning". Busted.
oh MckMama I just love the new header...and those shirts that got sent to you....adorable!!! I love what Stellan's says!! It's so true. Hope you're having a wonderful day in all that snow! We have a lot here too where I live :)
Blessings, Sharon
Clearly you ain't a southern gal. We don't drink "pop" we drink "coke."
All sodas are "coke" and then, from there, you decide which kind of "coke" you want..Dr. Pepper, Coca-Cola, Mt. Dew..you get the idea.
Don't even get me started on the whole supper is dinner and dinner is supper thing. Seriously, maybe being a mid-westerner is easier. Wait....except for all that snow. Think I'll stay right here in the south, thankyouverymuch.
Ahahahaha I love it! Big Mac busted PC! Ahahaha!
hahahaha!!!! i love it!
I totally love your new header. So darn cute. Love there shirts.
LOVE your header!!!
I love your header. Too funny that Daddy is busted! I love his anatomy lesson.
Love the anatomy lesson...too funny! At least he knows how things work :)
Ha! Doesn't daddy know that little ones aren't the best secret keepers!! Mine always give him sweets behind my back. One day my boy said ice cream and my hubby was shaking him head because he knew he was busted!
Made me think of this recent story: A friend and her daughter were backing out of a parking lot and "bumped" the telephone pole. Oops! There were no marks on the car, so my friend tells her daughter, "This is our secret, daddy doesn't need to know about this, ok?" The daughter goes, "Yeah, it's ok, mom. I'm really good at keeping secrets. Last week dad and I went in the ditch with this same car and I haven't told ANYBODY." I LOVE LOVE LOVE hearing stories about parents being "busted" !!!!!!
That reminds me of my friend and her young son when they were talking about not repeating curse words. Son told my friend that he does not say curse words but sometimes "daddies can say them when they are driving."
Kids are so honest.
Haha Busted... I love it.
Your children are beautiful and I love the t-shirts. I was so happy to come back to read your little one is home with you.
Your little professors lesson was very funny. :D My boys are like that too.
Love the new header... you have beautiful children and a great talent forsharing your life.
Sounds like a conversation that could've taken place at MY house!!
oh my goodness, are all men cloned from the same mold. That is priceless about the pop!!!
Thanks for the little laugh tonight. Always great to wind down for the night with the musings of a child professor :)
Hahaha, Isabelle is quite the tattletale too, without meaning to be. Kids are so honest! Also, love your new header!
Kids that age say the funniest things! Aren't they refreshing? Down here we have soda or just coke, no pop in my neck of the woods!
Oh that's funny! I love when kids tell! And it's funny that y'all call it 'pop'!
I love the shirts! As I've said a million and one times...you have four of the most precious children I've ever seen! Big Mac is so handsome!!!
Big Mac, you are so precious and detailed, way to tell the lady like it is. I love the words that come from babes.
My nephew Jonathan was sitting in his high chair one nite and my brother was feeding him potatoe chips.(a big no-no as far as mama was concerned.
Well Jon's tray soon became empty as he shoved chip after chip in his mouth before mom reentered the kitche, when Jonathan suddenly said loudly "More chip please..DADDY!as you know daddy was busted right there on the spot. LOL! My poor brother.~Darlene
:) That's so funny. Especially the one about drinking pop. We have that here too!!!
Ohhhh, I AM so understanding that!! B/c, yesterday, when Daddy got home he poured out DR PEPPER into the 6 and 3 y/os glasses! And I'm standing nearby saying, "WHAAAAT! They DON'T get THAT when Mommy's in charge!!" :)
Love the colors of that sign. Very pretty.
Sounds like your husband is "fun daddy" like mine is. All the donuts you can eat..
Okay..I just had to chuckle at "pop"...I grew up in PA, but my family moved down to Georgia when I was young...being in the south so long, I know they don't know what "pop" is...I was wondering how wany of your southern readers would be in the dark! So, for you southern ladies that have been secretly wanting to ask, "pop" is our "coke"! :) LOL
Heehee, kids science is only as good as the person who gave them the information to begin with...lol It really does show how much they absorb when you explain something to them.
Oh man...SO busted...ouch.
HA! Prince Charming just got ratted out! roflmao
So, evidently Daddy didn't sign on to be a part of the nutrition police force! Ah, the yin and yang of two parents who love their children!
Yes, for the kids, the odds are always in their favor if they ask daddy! :)
so i'm new to your blog and am LOVING it. what a blessing it is! i love Jesus and organic too! my newest intrest: cloth diapers
could you take me through a day in the life of a cloth diaper from putting it on to taking it off, to washing/drying, storage, etc. and any other specifics or helpful hints would be great as well! make it a post...if that helps! thanks
LOL@ Daddy getting busted...
Love Stellans new sign..it's so colorful!
Hugs
Terri
Love that door signage... perfect for whatever room he's in!!
Oh, that dreaded 'pop' conversation. My daughter is starting to ask about that now. Maybe it's a sign that I should quit.
:)

Dads usually get "busted" from time to time...the truth eventually comes out! haha
Oh yeah....my kids are always letting me in on the "daddy secrets" & what they have been up to with daddy. Pop is the least of my worries!
Glad I'm not the only one to put her children in the closet.
Gives "out of the closet" a whole new meaning.
