Anatomy 101, with Professor Big Mac

Lady at the Community Center (No, it wasn't Karen!) this morning, to MckNugget, as we were all eating lunch in their little cafe:

"Oh, is that carrot good, Sweetie? And that sandwich? Yum, yum! Is it yummy in your tummy?"

Big Mac, to the lady: "No. Food does not stay in his tummy. It goes (hand gestures at this point) through lotsa other stuff in his body and then it comes out of his bottom."

Duly noted, Professor Big Mac. Thank you for that much-needed scientific explanation of digestion.

----------------------------------------------------

I have been remiss in linking to this post, written by Laura from String of Pearls. My socks weren't the only ones you all knocked off with your breathtaking giving during the Rebel Without For A Cause Raffle-Way last month. Click on the link to read proof of how much of a blessing you were!!

----------------------------------------------------

Is this awesome, or what? It hangs on Stellan's door. Which is actually Small Fry's door. Which is actually our bedroom closet.

StellansCanvas

But someday, Stellan will move up in the world and get to sleep with the clothes and coathangers. And when he does, his door will already be ready. Oh, and thank you so much, Alicia!!!!

----------------------------------------------------

Me: "No, sweetheart, you may not have a sip of that pop. Pop is for adults."

Big Mac: "Yes, but I have pop sometimes. When I'm with Daddy."

Busted.

Love the anatomy lesson! Smart little guy :) Yeah, we pretty much treat soda (pop) like candy. Occasional treat. Daddies have a tendency to be a bit less strict with these things though! lol

Yeah....that Pop thing sounds really familiar...

Too Funny and it sounds like Pop is in trouble due to pop. :)

I gave my godchild a sip of my orange Mt. Dew the other day. He loved it, I thought his mother, My coworker was going to have me come over and watch him that night.
But, he is always hiper even without a sip of caffine.
I'm watching him tonight so it may be interesting how hiped up he is for me for the evening.

Ah, yes. Too familiar. Daddy not obeying my food rules. I've been building a positive vocabulary so I don't accidentally or intentionally disrepect my husband by declaring a food rule he doesn't follow.

So instead of saying, "We don't eat processed cheese." I can say, "Let's eat the special cheese that's made on a family farm in country." Or in the pop discussion, "Water will make you feel fresh and clean on the inside." Or "Juice with Vit. C will make your immune system stronger!"

Okay, I'm just going to come right out and ask ... who on earth is "Karen" at the community center??? You've mentioned her on several occasions, and I bet there's a good story behind this one!

Oh, and way to go, Professor Big Mac! That silly lady needed to get the facts straight. You'd love the book my kiddos enjoy on that very topic ...What Happens To Your Food? by Alastair Smith. It's a fun Usborne flip/flap book, with a perfect "ending".

Ha Ha! Kids are funny! While we were learning the Christmas story some of my girls at work (3 yr olds) decided they needed to have babies in their tummies too to which one little girl replied "My daddy said I can have a baby in my tummy only after I go to college and get married." ...so true! :)

HAHA! PC totally got busted, hilarious. When I was young I knew I was NOT. ALLOWED. NOT. AT. ALL. NEVER. EVER. EVER. to have coke. My great aunt and uncle used to tell me it was dirty water so I would drink it, get all hyped up, then they would send me home.

Kristin said...

LOL about the pop! My kids usually end up telling on their Daddy too when he lets them do something that they know I don't allow them to do!

oh MckMama I just love the new header...and those shirts that got sent to you....adorable!!! I love what Stellan's says!! It's so true. Hope you're having a wonderful day in all that snow! We have a lot here too where I live :)

The Beaver Bunch said...

Clearly you ain't a southern gal. We don't drink "pop" we drink "coke."

All sodas are "coke" and then, from there, you decide which kind of "coke" you want..Dr. Pepper, Coca-Cola, Mt. Dew..you get the idea.

Don't even get me started on the whole supper is dinner and dinner is supper thing. Seriously, maybe being a mid-westerner is easier. Wait....except for all that snow. Think I'll stay right here in the south, thankyouverymuch.

Ha! Doesn't daddy know that little ones aren't the best secret keepers!! Mine always give him sweets behind my back. One day my boy said ice cream and my hubby was shaking him head because he knew he was busted!

Lori said...

Made me think of this recent story: A friend and her daughter were backing out of a parking lot and "bumped" the telephone pole. Oops! There were no marks on the car, so my friend tells her daughter, "This is our secret, daddy doesn't need to know about this, ok?" The daughter goes, "Yeah, it's ok, mom. I'm really good at keeping secrets. Last week dad and I went in the ditch with this same car and I haven't told ANYBODY." I LOVE LOVE LOVE hearing stories about parents being "busted" !!!!!!

Amy said...

That reminds me of my friend and her young son when they were talking about not repeating curse words. Son told my friend that he does not say curse words but sometimes "daddies can say them when they are driving."

Kids are so honest.

Big Mac, you are so precious and detailed, way to tell the lady like it is. I love the words that come from babes.

My nephew Jonathan was sitting in his high chair one nite and my brother was feeding him potatoe chips.(a big no-no as far as mama was concerned.

Well Jon's tray soon became empty as he shoved chip after chip in his mouth before mom reentered the kitche, when Jonathan suddenly said loudly "More chip please..DADDY!as you know daddy was busted right there on the spot. LOL! My poor brother.~Darlene

Ohhhh, I AM so understanding that!! B/c, yesterday, when Daddy got home he poured out DR PEPPER into the 6 and 3 y/os glasses! And I'm standing nearby saying, "WHAAAAT! They DON'T get THAT when Mommy's in charge!!" :)

Lisa said...

Love the colors of that sign. Very pretty.

Sounds like your husband is "fun daddy" like mine is. All the donuts you can eat..

Katie B said...

Okay..I just had to chuckle at "pop"...I grew up in PA, but my family moved down to Georgia when I was young...being in the south so long, I know they don't know what "pop" is...I was wondering how wany of your southern readers would be in the dark! So, for you southern ladies that have been secretly wanting to ask, "pop" is our "coke"! :) LOL

Amber said...

Heehee, kids science is only as good as the person who gave them the information to begin with...lol It really does show how much they absorb when you explain something to them.
