Rejoice, rejoice, a Savior is born!

And rejoice we did!

At least, some of us did. Like this little 8-week old guy.

StellanSmilesChristmas

His first Christmas, first time meeting Grandpa, first awake smile caught on film and first time sleeping in a suitcase! What's not to be happy about!?

But sick, cranky, needy and whiny pretty much described our second born today.

ChristmasInside3

When Grandmother offers you her hot chocolate and you turn it down with a scowl on your face, you know you're feeling under the weather.

Looking dapper, Big Mac opened all of his gifts. And all of MckMuffin's. And most of Small Fry's. And even some of MckNugget's. Things turned out really well on the gift opening side of things for him this year.

He also had the most fun out of anyone with giving. He'd have wrapped up every toy in our house to give to his cousin for Christmas, if I'd have let him. The biggest joy Big Mac got today was in watching others open what he'd picked out (of his own arsenal of toys at home) and wrapped up to give to them.

ChristmasInside1

Of course, not everyone could be in a good mood.

ChristmasInside4

From Cindy Lou Who to the Grinch, Small Fry--who was often found in the loving arms of Aunt Hilary today--was a bit manic depressive. Must have been the combination of staying up late for the candlelight Christmas Eve service last night and too much fudge today.

But no matter how you look at it, rejoicing over the birth of our Savior with all four of our children was joyous indeed.

BTW, a suitcase for a port-a-crib is quite possibly the most brilliant thing I have ever heard in my entire life!!

How could I not have thought of that one??!!

8 weeks already??? Man, doesn't time fly with the little guys. Sometimes I wish they'd stay little like that forever, or at least a little longer. My #4 just turned 5 mos. I think I need to go to Babies Anonymous. I just love babies. After their 1yr bday, nevermind :D But having an infant gives a different perspective on the celebration of Jesus' birth. Makes you appreciate it all that much more. Merry Christmas.

If baby Jesus can sleep in a manger, who says that MckMuffin can't sleep in a suitcase? We have to see a picture of that and for some reason I can even envision three adorable little "Wise" kids bringing gold, frankincense, and myrrh...I mean diapers, teething rings and blankets!

What a perfect first smile for the camera! Big Mac hit paydirt on the opening presents thing, huh? lol He better enjoy it 'cause the siblings will protest as they get older!!!!

Small Fry's "grimace" is cracking me up! And I adore the boys' neckties. Was PC wearing one as well? : )

Always love how bright and clear your inside pictures turn out. I'm still playing around with the ISO and such, but I'm thinking I need a lens that's NOT manual focus - after a long photo shoot, my eyeballs are tired from squinting!

Merry Christmas!!

Merry Christmas to you too!

Our 18 month old (especially) and our 3 year old both were just a bit Grinch-y today. With the baby, it may have been the chocolate covered marshmallow reindeer, and foil-clad kisses he ate for breakfast that ruined his appetite for anything nutricious we tried to serve later that set the tome for the rest of the day. Even the 3 hour afternoon nap did nothing to improve his outlook.

Ah well, there were moments of peace during the day and the rest of us had a wonderful day.

Merry Christmas to all...What a wonderful sugar-filled day we had at our house too....all sleeping peacefully in their beds, I hear lots of snoring...and I am sure no one is dreaming of sugar plums....maybe Pepto....Glad your day was safe and full of love and family.......

Adorable! DH got me a 50mm 1.8 lens and I am loving it already. But how do you get such awesome shots indoors with the lighting? We have bight colors too in our house, and I am trying to no use the flash. I upped the ISO, and played with the WB. But unless I am right near a window the pictures have that "not enough light" glow to them. I have looked at your photography tips (thanks) and am looking ofrward ot more lessons!

I have loved finding your blog. I feel so encouraged my another mama doing life similar to me...loving God, their husband, their kids... and into natural living (oh I wish I was more so)and into photography.

The pictures are priceless! My toddler was a bit manic depressive too :o) Merry Christmas to you and yours, MckMama!

Aspiemom said...

I think many toddlers are a little manic & out of sorts on Christmas. All of the changes from routine, extra sweets, lack of sleep...sometimes the surrounding commotion was just too much for my son.

I'm glad that Big Mac had such a good time in giving this year. That is so sweet!

Stellan's picture is so sweet!

Merry Christmas!
Celebrating the birth of our Saviour with our children is joyous in and of itself!
They enjoy the simple things, and don't have an ounce of stress. I can't get enough of our 10 month rocking his arms as we sing "Away in a Manger"
God Bless you and your family!

hoping the kiddies feel better, and that you don't get sick too! The pictures above are amazing! Stellan is beautiful (his daddy probably won't like my saying that!) Did they tell you that it was the first 3 months that if anything was going to appear it would? If so, he's 2/3 of the way through and well PTL!

MckMuffin: What little cheekies he's growing. I love them. Just want to reach through the screen and give him a big squeeze.

MckNugget: Poor guy. Hope he's feeling better. No fun to be under the weather on Christmas (um, no fun for anyone not just him ;) )

Big Mac: Love the tie! How wonderful that he's finding so much joy in the giving as well!

Small Fry: Priceless photo!

Oh and I didn't win the Raffle way, but I did receive a Canon Rebel from my FIL as a Christmas present. he saw on my blog about the Raffle way and knew I really wanted one. After he gave it to me he said "you didn't win the raffle did you" Haha, god had other plans for me!

Love your blog!

What a memorable Christmas! I love the first smile photo and maybe even more loved the Cindy loo pix!! Kind of the same way Kendall acted today. My boys also love to wear ties. I had never thought about making little ones like you did.

oh yea, the suitcase idea, we have also used "odd" places. In hotels we always use a drawer instead of one of their germy beds. We hav also used the tub while staying with relatives. (We did turn off the water at the pipe)

As always fun pictures..........
