Oh, Not Me! Monday. It just never gets old! In fact, the more I admit about the silly/funny/embarrassing/shameful things I do, the better I feel! So, hop on board this week!
I did not learn from my friend Tiff that I'd sent her two Christmas cards in the mail. Not me! And to think, I always thought I didn't have enough hours in my day. Apparently, I have too much time on my hands and had to send her two. I wonder which one of my friends didn't get one then, hmmmm.
I did not put my babywearing skills to shame in front of two of my friends by attempting to casually drop MckMuffin in between the folds of my Kangaroo Korner sling, but instead grab both layers of sling so that instead of dropping into the sling, he dropped right behind it and would have fallen straight to the ground if my other hand hadn't been quick enough to grab him before he did. Man, that had my adrenaline pumping. I mean, if that really would have happened. Which it so didn't.
Although we chopped down our sweet little tree over a week ago, we most certainly did not just put lights and ornaments on it yesterday, a mere 5 days before Christmas. 
I did not nearly hit the floor when I noticed that Small Fry had found MckMuffin's bottle and was pounding expressed breastmilk at a breakneck speed. Sure, if she were still the youngest, I'd be nursing her, but she's not and I don't make near enough liquid gold for it to go to any other use than nourishing our 7 week old.
And, I did not misspell quickly in an email this week, making the recipient think I must be really frisky to be mentioning a quicky. And for pete's sake, I'm married!

Woohoo...all my blog stalking finally paid off and got me in the top 10! Your tree looks great, and nice save on not dropping the baby!
When Lael was a baby I almost dropped her while trying to put her in one of the Playtex Hip Hammocks....amazing how fast you react when your baby is headed towards the ground!

Question...Do you and your family participate in "Santa"?
We don't and I know a few others who don't...I am wondering your beliefs.
We have a hard time with having to lie about it. Not to mention our gifts come from God and not Santa.
Our almost 5 year old is having a hard time with it this year becasue everyone else at school believes in santa. We are teaching him about St. Nick and where the story of Santa comes from, but that the gitfs we give and receive come from God.
Just wondering..I know we are not alone, but curious how you all do it...

I did not ask my SW (sweet hubby) to uh... stop passing gas while we are in bed.
I did not have a totally cranky and crabby day yesterday.
(maybe it's because my SW wakes me up during the night while he is.... doing you know what in bed!!)

I did NOT just have a freaking HEART ATTACK as you told the story of the sling and Stellan. Noooo... that wouldn't have been a recurring dream I had after I wore a sling with my friend's baby in it one day a few years ago and held her the entire time through the sling because I didn't trust the darn thing to hold.
No... because I'm not a single girl who is ridiculously over protective and exceptionally cautious with all little people.

Liquid gold... that is what my husband always called it too! Especially after our youngest decided to wean herself and we had to start buying formula!!!

It's not me who holds my baby everytime he's in a sling, because I fear he's going to slip right through.
It's not me who holds my baby even when he's in a sturdy, strappy carrier (ergo, bjorn)... what if the straps broke? You just NEVER know!

These are hilarious! Love the 'quicky' thing...and of course you wouldn't be thinking about something like that! LOL :-)
Here's a couple of mine. I DID NOT totally lose it after a really rough day last week and scream and yell at my kids in anger. I'm NOT that kind of mother so I would NEVER do that. (and of course I didn't have to apoligize to them and the Lord afterward either:-)
And my 5 year old son did not tell his 7 year old 'aunt' at the family Christmas thing to not take his 3 year old sister where we couldn't see them. Cause he HAD NOT heard me and my husband talk about her doing that on Thanksgiving.(so she could teach her 'lovely' ways to act unfortunately:( And I was NOT the least bit embaressed when he said it right out in front of everyone. Nope, NOT ME!! :-)

Your tree is so cute! The breastmilk thing was hilarious, but my favorite part was the "quicky". I have one I did not mention in my Not me's that you just reminded me of. A friend of a friend that went sledding with us yesterday decided to give me an extra shove as I was aiming to go down the hill and hit a little bump...well the extra shove threw me off course which is when I DID NOT STATE, "you got me off!" Yes I left it at that, I replayed what I had just said in my mind to my total embarrassment! No one said anything thank goodness.
I feel that I need to clarify what I had meant to say, "You got me off course." I feel bad now for even writing the above...
That's scary about the sling..I tend to always keep a hand on baby at all times with any carrier, even with my mei tai, I just feel the need!
Are those breakables on your tree? My angel already got shaken from the top of ours! Now that I say that I realize you have nothing on top, perhaps yours jumped while she had the chance ;)! Still a beautiful tree!

So, you put your decorations on a little late, that's ok...last year, we had the tree in the living room, and after Christmas we decided to move back to our den and close off the living room. In June, we moved to a different part of the state and my parents took down the tree and decorations (6 months after Christmas). HA HA! Merry Christmas!

i am NOT dreading going back to the midwest.. even if it is to say goodbye to my grandfather and then probably a funeral.
I am NOT freaking out that the house is A MESS and my parents are coming home at 8 tonight and my dads been gone for more than 2 weeks. he deserves a clean house!!

i also did not sleep in until 11 today. only to be woken with a phone call from my mother wondering why i was not up.

are you sure you don't want to start nursing small fry again? your body would adjust and make more milk...says the mom who is nursing twin 17 month olds and has no idea how to nurse just one at a time and therefore thinks tandem nursing would be easier. :)

Ok, so I just should have twittered ONLY you my tweet after work instead of the ENTIRE world, but oh well. For my NOT ME MONDAY, I so did NOT make my 2.5 yr old ride pantless and underwearless in our car to come home because he had NO DRY CLOTHES left after preschool today....and NO is it was NOT in 30s when I did that...NOPE NOT ME!! What kind of mom would I have been??

BTW when I had 3 under four years, I TIED the ornaments to the tree with little red yarn bows. I love the photo of my first Christmas with a nine month old. He's on his tippy toes stretching to reach the tree up on a card table. It's so tempting for the little ones. We're usually encouraging them to enjoy our wonderful world. Just keep 'em (and the ornaments) safe!
And apropos the gal who was shoved off course when sledding: I once went out sledding with other moms when the kids were in bed. One gal kept veering off course and said it was because of her "steering breast"!! (She's not the only woman with one larger breast, eh?)

Okay, so after the sling-slip, I just had to share this, though it's not Monday (is it???)
I did NOT reach over to pick something off the floor and loose my balance. I did NOT then scream to my mom leaving the room, "HELP! I'M GONNA DIE!!!" as I helplessly began to fall to the floor. My mom did NOT come flying over the bed, super-man style (you know, belly-flop, arms streached out, "dun-dun-dun-DUNN!!!" style), grabbing my ankles and pulling her wheelchair-bound 13 y/o back up onto the bed. Definitely not.
I think this is going to be fun.

I love the NMM posts! I hsven't had a lot of time to read though. I don't know how you do it. I have a 4 1/2 year old and a 6 week old. Plus getting ready for Chritmas.
