Maybe baby.

Little Miss M. Is she a baby?

Or is she a big girl?

The answer, of course, is yes.

Our daughter M. Our marvelous, mischievous, maybe baby.

She's a sometimes big girl. A sometimes baby. She recently become another middle child and she's managing that mode magnificently.

Our maybe baby.

(Got any m's up your sleeve?)

That perfect profile pic of your baby/big girl made me think of my friend Elizabeth who does silhouettes on her website. I hope it's okay to post this link!!

She is a baby. Coming from a mom of four. My first two were 18 months apart and then a six year span and then the next two came 16 months apart...and they were babies but grew up faster because fo the younger babies that followed. Baby sweet Small Fry while you can, those days will fly by. My baby girl is 21 and her younger brother (my last baby) is going to be 20 in January. I miss those days...they sped by too fast and I was eager to have my baby girl be a big sister and not be the baby that she really was. God bless you and your precious family. Never forget to treasure these days with all of your babies.

i feel i must inform you...your miss m is certainly a baby. not much big girl to her. i can say this because i have a 10 year old, an 8 year old, a 5 and a 1 year old and when my 10 and 8 were 1...i too thought they were big...i really thought they were big when they were 3 and 4 and 5...but now i know, they were still babies babies babies. so now...my 5 and 1...babies all the way. and my 8 and 10...oh my goodness i'm tryin' to keep 'em little.

I added this on to the end of your prayer request post moments ago, but sshamelessly I was hoping to place it infront of more people for prayer, so please excuse the double post.

I have an urgent prayer request, for a family friend who was in a very serious motorcycle accident yesterday. Doctors are giving him a 50/50 chance of survival.

Rodney goes in for a second surgery at 10am EST on Tuesday. If you could please say a prayer as you read this, at 10, or really whenever... I could never thank you enough.

You can read about the situation as well as specific prayer requests at http://streetsofgeorgetown.blogspot.com/2008/11/please-pray.html

I'm a nanny for 4 kids and when the baby was born 6 months ago there was that transition time for #2 and #3 switching to the middle children. #2 was already a middle child, but by himself. #3 did not like not being the baby anymore! I just read your twitter on "paci-patrol." My kids had the toughest time keeping a pacin IN their mouth and I was up and down all night to "re-plug" it in. I switched to the kind with no "ring" and it got much better!! I think the weight of the plastic ring pulls it out of their mouth easier or something. MAM was the brand we had the best success with!

Good luck!

I have a prayer request. Here is a blog of a woman who lives in Kingwood, TX (I just moved away from there to Dallas this summer.) She is the mother of 6 and her husband died unexpectedly last Dec. He was the School Board president and they both were VERY active in church and well known, well liked active members of the community. She speaks of her friend "V" often in her blog and this friend's grandson was just born a month premature and did not make it. I know everyone close to the situation could use a blanket of prayer...

Isn't it amazing how the child that used to be a baby all the sudden seems so big once a new baby is introduced into the family. My son Owen was only 17 months old when Jack was born and he turned into such a big boy overnight. But in many many ways he's still my baby boy too!

This is kinda long but it addresses a comment you made about "not" using spit to clean up the kids. (I'm NOT "anon"~~I'm Michal immichal@yahoo.com but google messes up my password constantly.)

"SPIT SPOT CLEANING": "Everyone" seems to use spit to clean their kids but a friend of mine added a considerate touch. Let the kid to use their own spit for quick clean-ups. "Here honey. Spit on this kleenex." I've heard spit called "The Universal Solvent." Why don't we have "bionic kleenex boxes" installed when kids are born? I'm now like my grandma with a hankie up my sleeve...Pucker up!

I am forwarding this article with fun and useful information about the healing properties of SPIT! It doesn't make it clear if you need to use your OWN saliva or someone else's when you have a minor injury.

Saliva Heals Cuts Faster
By Catherine Guthrie

Go ahead: Lick your wounds. Your salivary glands are generating loads of curative compounds every day.

If you've ever cut your finger, your first impulse was probably to stick it in your mouth. That instinct serves you better than you might realize. Human saliva, it seems, speeds up wound healing.

Researchers at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands bathed injured skin in saliva or a saltwater solution. Sixteen hours later, they compared the samples and found that the cut treated with saliva had healed 30 percent faster.

The finding wasn't a complete surprise; saliva contains more than 200 compounds, many of which have, in previous research, proved capable of preventing cavities, fighting fungi, and even protecting against HIV transmission. Yet the Dutch researchers did uncover something new: Although they assumed growth hormones were responsible for the accelerated healing time, the catalysts were actually proteins called histatins.

"We stumbled upon the discovery," says Menno Oudhoff, the study's lead investigator. "It's a surprising finding." One reason for Oudhoff's excitement is that histatins are easier to synthesize in the lab than growth hormones, and they can be mass-produced cheaply. Which means histatin-infused products such as bandages, creams, and gauze could be available within a decade.
